The 20th annual awards recognize organizational democracy rather than hierarchy as a strategy for growth and resiliency in the AI-driven age.
WEST PALM BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — WorldBlu today named DaVita, Grupo Elektra and organizations across six countries to its 2026 List of Certified Freedom-Centered Organizations, marking its 20th annual Leadership + Culture Awards. WorldBlu is the pioneer of organizational democracy and freedom with accountability in the workplace.
These companies operate with organizational democracy rather than excessive hierarchy. This is the distinction at the heart of WorldBlu certification: it measures the democratic leadership and organizational design that enables people to self-manage, make decisions, and take responsibility for results.
This year’s award winners represent more than 150,000 employees across six countries, with organizations ranging from seven to 80,000 employees. They include privately held businesses, publicly traded companies and nonprofits across healthcare, financial services, retail, education and consulting. Their scale ranges from small teams to multibillion-dollar corporations with nearly $14 billion in annual revenue.
“Organizational democracy is a strategy for growth and resiliency,” said Traci Fenton, founder and CEO of WorldBlu and author of Freedom at Work. “In the age of AI, companies built on democratic principles are better positioned to adapt and outperform those held back by excessive hierarchy.”
WorldBlu’s historical research found that certified companies practicing organizational democracy averaged nearly seven times the cumulative revenue growth of S&P 500 companies over a three-year period.
Most culture recognition measures outcomes: how people feel, how engaged they are, or how likely they are to recommend their organization. That is valuable, but it doesn’t explain why a culture works.
WorldBlu certification validates the why—the leadership operating system, decision-making architecture and structural principles that make a top culture replicable, scalable and resilient.
WorldBlu certification is a rigorous, independent assessment of an organization’s leadership and design—measured against the WorldBlu 10 Principles of Organizational Democracy across three levels: individual experience, leadership behavior, and organizational systems and processes.
Employees provide confidential feedback through the Freedom at Work Scorecard™. Certification is difficult to earn and must be renewed annually.
Organizations that score 3.5 or higher out of 5.0 earn WorldBlu certification and recognition on the annual WorldBlu List of Freedom-Centered Organizations, joining a global community of leaders demonstrating that freedom drives extraordinary results.
The 2026 award winners and their democratic practices (alphabetically listed):

Ayana Intl. — Budapest, Hungary: The 16-person retailer practices open-book management, sharing the company’s financial information with the entire team so employees can understand the business behind their decisions.
