Adams Street Partners, LLC (“Adams Street”), a leading private markets investment management firm with more than $76 billion of assets under management,* announced today that Justine Huang Burns has joined the firm as Partner, focused on venture secondaries.

Based in Menlo Park, Huang Burns will focus on growing Adams Street’s venture secondaries capabilities within the firm’s Secondary Investments Team, which manages more than $10 billion in capital. She will work closely with Adams Street’s Primary Investments and Venture Growth Investments Teams to source, underwrite, and execute LP interest transactions and continuation vehicle transactions across the venture landscape.

Huang Burns’ mandate builds on Adams Street’s more than five decades of investing in and building relationships with leading venture managers, including approximately 40 firms to which Adams Street currently makes primary, secondary, and co-investment commitments. She will help scale Adams Street’s venture secondaries investment capabilities, with the goal of expanding access to differentiated, venture-focused secondary opportunities for the firm’s clients over time.

“Venture secondaries are an increasingly important opportunity for our clients, and Justine will play a key role in helping us grow this area,” said Jeff Akers, Partner & Head of Secondary Investments at Adams Street. “Her experience leading venture-focused secondary transactions, combined with Adams Street’s longstanding general partner relationships and capital base, should position us well to deliver differentiated opportunities for our clients.”

“Adams Street has a deep and well-established secondary platform and a distinctive network of venture relationships on which to build,” said Huang Burns. “I’m excited to help shape the firm’s venture secondaries franchise alongside colleagues across the firm’s Primary, Direct Venture Growth, and Secondary Investment Teams to deliver value for clients.”

Huang Burns joins Adams Street with more than a decade of experience in venture and secondary investing. She most recently served as Managing Director, Secondary Funds at Industry Ventures, a venture capital investment platform that became part of Goldman Sachs Asset Management following its acquisition in January 2026. There, she was a deal lead on several of the firm’s LP secondary, GP-led, direct, and SPV transactions and helped manage its investment team. Earlier in her career, she worked in equity research at Goldman Sachs, covering the medical technology sector. Huang Burns holds an MBA with Honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Economics and Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley.

* Adams Street Partners’ methodology to calculate Assets Under Management (AUM) is based on fund net asset value (NAV), plus unfunded commitments, plus leverage, but excluding the effect of subscription lines of credit. The prior AUM methodology was based on investor commitments minus commitments to fully liquidated underlying partnerships. Such change in methodology was effective July 2026; however, for periods shown prior to December 31, 2025, Adams Street continues to use the previous methodology. This updated methodology more closely aligns with (i) the amount of assets managed on behalf of investors and (ii) the amount of capital available to make direct and/or partnership investments. Amounts stated by investment advisers in regulatory filings (“regulatory AUM”) have a prescribed methodology, which may, in some circumstances, differ from the methodology such adviser uses for other purposes, including marketing efforts.
