AI-powered disaster recovery platform clears rigorous compliance process in 37 days, opening the door for government agencies to deploy it for their residents
WASHINGTON and MIAMI, Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — AidFinder, the AI-powered disaster recovery platform built for emergency management agencies and the residents they serve, today announced it has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Class C Certification in partnership with Knox Systems (Knox). AidFinder secured certification in just 37 days, the fastest timeline Knox has led to date. Approval through the rigorous verification process clears the way for government agencies to deploy the platform for their residents.

Disaster aid is scattered across a web of federal, state, tribal, local, private, and non-profit programs, each with its own set of rules, timelines, and eligibility requirements. The current structure places a huge burden on the survivor to manage the required reporting between each specific program and to ensure all necessary paperwork is within reach and filed. With AidFinder, survivors tell their story once, and its AI agent helps prepare each application directly on the aid program’s own website. Survivors review and approve every submission before it’s sent, ensuring a human is always in the loop and in control of their own data.
The platform was born from Co-Founder and CEO of AidFinder, Jonathon Nostrant’s, own experience in the Palisades Fire, when his home was damaged, his community was lost, and he found himself navigating a scattered disaster aid system across America.
“When my community burned in the Palisades Fire, I spent months as my own case manager, retelling the same story to FEMA, Small Business Administration, my insurer, and a dozen programs that don’t talk to each other. Every emergency manager I’ve met since knows that story, because they hear it from survivors every day. With AidFinder now achieving FedRAMP, federal and state agencies can finally put a fix in place,” said Nostrant.
AidFinder works alongside the government program websites that already exist, connecting survivors to the systems agencies already run and trust. It works before a disaster, when a resident prepares, and after one, when a survivor applies. The platform is designed for FEMA Individual Assistance and preparedness, with additional federal, state and non-profit programs to follow, and includes:
- State-branded portal. A single front door under the state’s own brand. Emergency management teams stand up their own programs, set eligibility rules, and see where every survivor is in the recovery journey, from first application to aid received all in one place.
- Preparedness before the declaration. A resident will claim their property, upload their insurance to see how covered they are, receive a risk score for the location, and follow a plan to close the gaps. When a declaration comes, the application is already half done.
- Tell your story once. One intake, multiple programs. The AI agent will carry the same information into each application, and the survivor approves each one before it is submitted.
- One recovery map. Survivors will be able to see how FEMA, SBA, insurance, state, and nonprofit programs fit together, what each one needs, and how to document damages so every program accepts the same evidence.
- Secure document vault. Records will be stored once, shared only with the programs the survivor authorizes. Each agency sees only what its program needs.
“Disaster recovery should answer to the survivor first, not a maze of disconnected agencies,” said Craig Fugate, Senior Emergency Management Advisor at AidFinder and former FEMA Administrator. “AidFinder keeps the person trying to recover at the center of every step and our FedRAMP Class C Certification lets states put that principle to work inside the government-grade environment their own systems already require.”
FedRAMP Certification often takes multiple years under the traditional process. Knox compresses that to a 90-day commitment by hosting customers inside its already-certified boundary, where they inherit the majority of required controls and work through a fixed sequence of scans, remediation, evidence review, exercises and submission. AidFinder arrived ready. Its engineering team, drawn from MIT and Silicon Valley, built the platform to the FedRAMP standard from day one.
“After enduring a disaster, survivors shouldn’t face the daunting process of navigating disconnected agency systems to recover,” said Irina Denisenko, CEO of Knox Systems. “With the support of Knox, AidFinder is bringing state agencies a single, guided path to the aid their residents are eligible for – without asking survivors to give up ownership of their own information.”
