September and October initiative offers practical guidance on fit, performance, skin health, and everyday confidence with support from NorthShore Care Supply
DENVER, CO, UNITED STATES, October 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The National Association for Continence (NAFC) has launched a two-month education campaign focused on helping people with bladder and bowel leakage choose and use absorbent products more effectively. The September and October initiative is part of NAFC’s
We Count campaign and is proudly sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and NorthShore Care Supply.
Absorbent products are a central part of daily incontinence management for millions of people, whether they are used on their own or alongside pelvic floor therapy, medication, procedures, or other treatment. Yet choosing a product can be confusing. Package terms are not always consistent, and the highest absorbency or largest size is not automatically the best choice.
NAFC’s 2021 patient survey illustrates how difficult the process can be: nearly 80% of respondents tried at least three products before finding one that worked, and more than one-quarter tried seven or more. In the same survey, 97% rated product design and effectiveness as important or very important.
“Absorbent products are sometimes treated as simple supplies, but for the people who rely on them, fit and performance can shape nearly every part of the day,” said Sarah Jenkins, Executive Director of NAFC. “A product that fits well and performs reliably can help protect skin, reduce worry about leaks and odor, support better sleep, and make it easier to stay active. Our goal is to give people clear, practical information so they can make more informed choices.”
Throughout September and October, NAFC will share education for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on the factors that influence real-world product performance.
Campaign resources include a consumer fact sheet on finding the right fit, educational social content, patient and healthcare professional emails, and a forthcoming comprehensive guide, The Importance of High-Performance Absorbent Products. Together, these resources will help users and caregivers better understand product choices and encourage healthcare professionals to include absorbent-product needs in broader conversations about incontinence care.
“Finding the right protection should not require endless trial and error,” said Adam J. Greenberg, Founder and CEO of NorthShore Adult Diapers®. “We are proud to support NAFC in giving people managing incontinence practical, judgment-free information and product guidance that can help them get the absorbency, fit, and performance they need to live with greater confidence and dignity.”
